2nd October: Behind the scene
Mahatma Gandhi had not dreamed about the Society, today we are living within. Violence has been with us from the beginning of life on earth and is likely to continue in one form or another. Violence is found in and used against all forms of life. We also have violence committed against the weaker sections of society - the poor, the women, and the Adivasis. Female fellows of our society are not allowed to live their life with their own choice. Children or those living in slums are particularly vulnerable. Violence against the environment, is an over-exploitation of nature through developmental activities like mining, setting up industrial plants, building big dams or roads in remote areas, etc. Violence by an individual against another individual; e.g. looting, stealing, kidnapping, rape, etc. is getting worse with each passing day. Listing up of all violent activities of the society is quite difficult to mention in a single article. Still, I tried to cover up all major and common points of violence. We have forgotten the ethics of life and shamelessly celebrating the international non-violence day on 2nd October each year. Without thinking a bit about the importance and purity of this National day, we just wish each other via social media and complete our formalities. The scope of Education is not all about having degrees and achieving dream jobs. Being the responsible citizens of the Nation we should think about the solutions to the aforesaid violent activities and decorate the world with positivity.
