That Birthday Wish!!!
The clock was showing 11:59 PM and I was making myself ready by gathering all my thoughts and excitements into a single sentence i.e. Happy Birthday!!! Of course, it’s one year down that I have wished her on birthday and this time the excitement at its pick. One year has gone by, but things have become even more complicated due to family issues. We were not free to celebrate like we did in 2019 and during this time, she was constrained with some restrictions over her activities. Anyways, just to be the first person to wish her on her born day in 2020, I gave her a call at 11:55. She usually sleeps with her family members and due to that reason, she couldn’t be able to speak a word over the phone. She had already got few warnings from her family members not to talk with me. Nothing was going in our favor. It was just the strong word between us that didn’t allow us to get apart. So I asked her just to hear me without talking a single word over the phone. Those 5 minutes over the phone seems like an hour to pass as she was completely quiet and it was hard on my part to bear that silence. Just like, you are listening to your favorite song on mute mode.
Oh my Goodness! Finally, it’s 12:00. “Happy Birthday to you”, I chanted four consecutive times like we do in all birthday celebrations. She was extremely delighted and couldn’t stop herself from thanking me. How could she be quiet now? That girl who scares to sleep alone at night, came out of her room at the darkest hour just to greet me with lovely Thanks. For a moment, I felt like she was with me and whispering in my ear. That moment was overwhelming and to be cherished for years. Undoubtedly I could read that hidden pain inside her heart for being away from me on her day. The heart wasn’t asking to end the talk, but the situation forced me to cut the call as I never wanted to put her in trouble. Feelings have reached their pick and heart was beating at its third mode. Shit! if I could speak with her for few more seconds. Letting her sleep in deep, I was awake there waiting for the golden sun to hit the ground.
